my customising disaster

I recently started my first blythe custom .. and it was a traumatic experience! please remind me to never open the head of a blythe ever again! I will just stick to sandmatting and changing the eyechips from the outside from now on.

I opened an RBL head and then found out how hard it is to paint the makeup without streaks, then as I was trying to put the eyemech back in some of the eyelid paint scratched off and I had to start over. When that was done I had to figure out how to put the eye mech back together and the eye's not change!
I searched around on the forums to see what the problem was .. apparently it's really common with RBL's which I didn't know beforehand.. I had everything in place just had to loosen the T bar the tiniest bit .. it still isn't working easily though and the eyes look like they are facing down now .. :( After finally getting it all back together I noticed the black I had painted for the pupils on the eyechips has come off with the glue so I still have to redo the eyechips again .. using the hot glue stick method this time and not opening the head again!

So in summary, I really don't think customising is for me, I didn't enjoy any of the process like I thought I would.

Here is poor Ebony .. still an unfinished custom..

Oh, my! You are very brave to open up a Blythe head! I don't think that's something I'll ever muster up the courage to do. Her black eyelids look great, tho. Good luck on the rest of your custom.
